Silica Fabric

Filament fabrics:

Hiltex Silica-fabrics are produced of silica glass yarns with a silicon dioxide percentage of more than 94%. We supply these fabrics in a range of weights from 180 g/m2 to 1220 g/m2 and thicknesses of 0,18 mm up to 1,30 mm.

Texturised fabrics:

For added temperature and thermal insulation properties Hiltex also offers texturised Silica fabrics produced from texturized silica glass yarns with a silicon dioxide percentage of more than 94%. We can also supply these fabrics in range of weights from 770 g/m2 to 1400 g/m2 and thicknesses of 1,20 mm up to 2,30 mm.

Wire-reinforced:

For added strength and durability Hiltex can offer wire-reinforced (V4A) Silica-fabrics produced from texturized yarns.

Silica:

Hiltex Silica textiles are highly resistant to corrosion and deterioration caused by chemicals, have good electrical insulation capabilities and remain flexible and drapable at high temperatures. Besides these excellent qualities, Hiltex Silica textiles are resistant to thermal shock, will resist molten metal splashing, welding splatter and direct flame impact. Hiltex Silica materials are often used as filters in the production of casting acid, and also as moisture- resistant filling in composite materials that require unimpeded performance at high temperatures. The melting point of Hiltex Silica textiles is above 1600oC.

Pre-shrunk for all fabrics to minimize shrinkage

All fabrics are supplied in loomstate or pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage at high temperatures. To further enhance the properties of the textiles, we process these with a wide range of coatings and treatments. Please see our “Coatings and Treatments” section for more detailed information on this.
